Never ever let anyone talk you out of your dreams and visions that you have for yourself. I met a young man recently who is a trainee with a launching company. And as it is my passion to talk to young people I struck a conversation with him. He tells me about all that he is learning to start his own venture and then he said but you know what my dream is to be a teacher. So my next question to him was then why are you working on this venture. And he replied, “This is because everyone tells me it does not make sense that I be a teacher.”
My question to all those people out there is how do you know what works for others. Maybe you should just concentrate on yourself and leave others alone. And my question to those who ask – Why do you need to validate all the time what you want to do with your life?
I believe and know from own personal experience we can achieve all that we set our mind too. I became an orphan when I was 19 years old. I went on to do a Ph.D and then realized I wanted to work for United Nations. I went back to college to get another degree at 34 years of age and then joined United Nations. The question is you and you alone know what you want out of your life. It is good to take advice once in a while but then no one knows you better than yourself.
No matter where you are now in the pursuit of your dreams, know that people who’ve done what you’d like to do started right where you stand. You have limitless power to create the future you visualize if you’re willing to dream, plan, and work. Don’t worry about what you don’t know. You’ll learn. Don’t stress about how much you’ll have to do. You can only do it one thing at a time.
They say journey to a thousand miles starts with a single step. So just start where you are, take that first step and then see things shape up in your direction.
